This grassroots movement is spreading like wildfire around the United States and is playing a huge role in transforming the way teachers participate in professional development. Edcamp is unlike traditional conferences where a speaker gives an hour long presentation about best practices for teaching, assessment, etc. The goal of these events is to provide an "unconference" environment that encourages participant driven discussions and learning based on teacher's passions and interests throughout the day.
