Quick Tips for Grading Assignments in JT Learn

1. When opening a document from a document library that you want to grade, click on the drop down arrow for that document and click "Edit in Microsoft Word."  This will eliminate a couple of clicks and make it easier to access the document.

2.  Unsure how to give feedback to your students?  This is an oldie but a goodie. Use the "Review" tab found in the ribbon of Microsoft Word.  Simply highlight the word, words, or sentence that you want to leave feedback for and click "New Comment."  It looks like this when you are done.

3.  Not very fast at typing?  Use your tablet to write the feedback for your students.  Flip the screen around and use the "Inking" function in Microsoft Word.

4.  Want to try something totally different?  Give your students feedback in the form of a screencast.  You will be able to communicate more verbally in a 2-3 minute screencast then you would be able to typing in comments on the right hand side of the document.
