When you play video clips in lessons or presentations, does the video stop playing to buffer? This can be a frustrating experience and takes up valuable class time. Buffering occurs so that a portion of the video can be pre-loaded into temporary storage on your computer. If your connection is overloaded, at its peak, or not a high-speed enough connection then buffering can leave you with a sporadic series of jerky clips.
One Possible SOLUTION: Download the video to your tablet or storage device in advance. This will allow the video to play without accessing the internet, thus avoiding the buffering.
If you are using DISCOVERY EDUCATION or LEARN 360 to access video footage, it is quite easy to download the video since there are built in downloading features in both products. However, if you get your footage from a site like YouTube, another tool will most likely be needed.
